Biography
Hasleton P S is Honorary Professor of Pulmonary Pathology, University of Manchester and Visiting Professor of Pathology, Hadassah Medical School, Jerusalem. He served on the MRC and the Core WHO working group- producing the new "blue book" on histological diagnosis of lung tumours, 1997 and 2004. He contributed to the revised WHO book on histological diagnosis of lung tumours (2015). He was a member of the International Working Party on Mesothelioma. He was awarded the Mary Matthews Lifetime achievement award, IASLC (International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer – June 2012 and a lifetime achievement award, Pulmonary Pathology Society (of the United States) – August 2012. He wrote over 200 papers, editorial reviews and 42 book chapters. He was sole editor of Spencer's Pathology of the Lung, McGraw-Hill, 1996. The rewritten 6th edition, co-edited with Dr. Flieder was published by Cambridge University Press (2013).
